It has been 1.5 years since the pre-launch of the 'New Generation Airships' project.

This milestone was marked by Fyodor Konstantinov and Gennady Babanin during a webinar dedicated to project updates.

Over this period, AERONOVA has progressed from concept to building the first airship prototypes and launching in-house envelope production.

Even more achievements and results lie ahead.

What else was discussed during the webinar?

Airship envelope production
Equipment has been delivered, and commissioning is nearing completion. The first welding work will begin shortly. The first item to be manufactured will be an 8-meter receiver tank—for testing the ballonet fans and valves. The envelope itself will follow.

NOVA-2
Assembly preparations are in full swing. Work on the empennage, landing gear, and propulsion units is already underway. It will be a flying laboratory capable of carrying 500 kg of payload. We may see the welded airship envelope as early as summer 2026!

NOVA-01
Testing continues to collect data and refine autonomous control algorithms: hovering, loitering, and automatic landing.

AEROLЁT-01
The aircraft has been assembled after its winter upgrade and is being prepared for tests: first—vertical takeoff and landing, then—verification of aerodynamics and horizontal flight.

Licensing and certification
Documents have been submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to obtain an airship developer license. This is a mandatory document and an important step on our path toward launching series production of the aircraft, as well as subsequent certification by Rosaviatsiya.

NOVA-02
The promotional airship (200+ cubic meters) is already under development and will soon take its place on the welding tables. There is already demand for such airships—from Russia to Africa.

Project outlook and challenges
- In the coming months, we expect to launch envelope production and manufacture the first large components for NOVA-2.
- The company plans to participate in industry conferences.
- Particular attention is being paid to certification, safety, and the search for test sites.

The New Generation Airships project is developing at a rapid pace despite external challenges. AERONOVA continues moving toward its goal—bringing next-generation airships into series production for a variety of missions: from advertising to cargo and passenger transportation.
