"We have taken another step closer to the full-scale launch of airship production," said AERONOVA Technical Director Fedor Konstantinov.

The project's recent results are impressive. The company is developing rapidly, with work underway across all areas. In February, many planned objectives were achieved.

In this post, we share more details on each of them.

📍Airship envelope production
AERONOVA has leased a 700-square-meter facility for envelope production in the settlement of Zaoksky, Tula Region. Renovation and finishing work are currently underway, after which the team will proceed to install the machinery. All the necessary equipment and materials for manufacturing the first envelopes are already in the warehouse, the design and process documentation is ready, and the procurement of small tools and tooling is in progress. The production process is scheduled to start in March–April 2026. This means the first results of our in-house production will be demonstrated very soon.

🛠Composite leaf springs
A contract has been signed with a company that will manufacture composite components for the airships. The composite leaf spring for the NOVA-2 airship has been designed and is in production.

⚙️Test benches
The company is developing test benches for the leaf spring, generator, envelopes, ducted propulsors, swivel transmission, thruster unit, and other airship components. All of the above benches will be fabricated in the future. Three benches are currently in production:
- for the leaf spring,
- a tensile bench for the envelope
- for the generator.

🔧Gondola for the NOVA-2 airship
The NOVA-2 gondola has been fully engineered. An important component — the “Caisson,” which forms the gondola floor — is nearly complete. Work on the remaining parts is ongoing.

✈️Flight tests of NOVA-01
The NOVA-01 airship is successfully undergoing tests. Trials of the fully automated control system are planned in the near future. The next series of flights is scheduled for the near term.

🚀AEROLЁT-01
The vehicle’s envelope has been sent for refinement. Flight tests have been temporarily suspended and will resume after the envelope is upgraded.

🌐Expansion of international interest
Talks are underway with international partners from Egypt and the UAE. We are discussing options for collaboration and adaptation of existing solutions, including the production of advertising airships and specialized devices.

⏳Near-term tasks and plans
- Launch of airship envelope production.
- Release of the first batch of NOVA-01 airships.
- Certification of production for entry into international markets and the start of mass production of unmanned airships for monitoring and cargo delivery.
- Research into the development of large stratospheric airships with potential for subsequent commercial use.
