Stratospheric and near-space conditions in the AERONOVA laboratory

In the laboratory AERONOVA, a unique thermal-vacuum chamber has been created to precisely simulate stratospheric and near-Earth space conditions.

Equipped with ultra-precise pressure and temperature sensors, the chamber enables calibration, testing, and verification of barometric altimeters, as well as testing a wide range of aviation and space equipment.

It enables:

• testing of radiators and heat dissipation systems;
• testing of printed circuit boards, circuits, and components at low temperatures and reduced pressure;
• verification of solar cells, rechargeable batteries, and power supplies;
• development and refinement of prototypes of propellantless plasma propulsion systems;
• plasma cleaning of analytical equipment in volumetric discharges of argon and its mixtures;
• and much more.

This equipment allows us to take a critical step toward the practical exploration of the stratosphere and the creation of reliable stratospheric vehicles.
