Will airships return to Russia's skies in 2026?
29 五月 2026
In June 2026, the New Generation Airships project is moving into a new phase of implementation and financing.
Today, at AERONOVA's own facility, fabric panels are being cut, seams are heat-sealed, and the first envelopes for future large airships are taking shape.
As a result, the company obtained a license from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation (Minpromtorg).
In parallel, we are discussing in China the possibility of manufacturing microturbine components for the powerplant.
The NOVA-01 and AEROLЁT-01 aircraft are already in the sky. They are undergoing flight tests.
The 40-meter NOVA-2 airship has been fully designed and is ready for assembly. In autumn 2026, if everything goes according to plan, it should take to the skies.
While the engineers work with metal and fabric, the negotiators are working with customers. There is serious commercial interest, both from Russia and from abroad. Do you remember how, at the Dubai Airshow, those you likely recognize from the news came to our booth?
We cannot promise that everything will be perfect. Too many variables affect timelines in aviation, from weather during testing to regulatory decisions.
The last major projects in the airship industry date back to the USSR. Today, the airship market in Russia is effectively being revived from scratch.
