How Sovelmash technologies save time and resources many times over

1 四月 2026

The Sovelmash team continues to improve the efficiency of serial production while simultaneously addressing the commissioning of the enterprise.

From prototypes to series production
We have reduced manufacturing time by a factor of thousands (!) compared to the prototypes. Previously, assembling a stator stack and casting the rotor took up to 40 hours. Now, stamping the stator and rotor takes up to 24 seconds, and rotor casting takes 10–12 seconds. Final assembly with bearings and shaft takes no more than 3 minutes.

The new winding scheme has reduced copper consumption by 37 grams per motor, which is significant in series production. This scheme will be used in angle grinders and a number of other motors.

A key advantage of Sovelmash technologies is motor operation at frequencies up to 600 Hz (instead of the standard 50 Hz). This reduces material consumption by 8–12 times for copper, electrical steel, and aluminum per kilowatt of installed capacity.

Work on assembling the first batch of angle grinders has ramped up. If necessary, minor adjustments are possible, but the core elements — housings, handles, stator, rotor, motor — have already been finalized.

Permit for commissioning
On March 25, a meeting was held by the Moscow department of urban planning policy, to which 18 developers were invited who had received certificates of completion more than 90 days earlier but whose facilities have still not been commissioned. The main reason is the same for everyone — comments on the technical plans that recur even after they are addressed. Sovelmash has prepared documents that confirm violations by the supervisory authorities and, in the event of one more refusal to issue the permit, will submit them to the prosecutor’s office.

Production is not an end in itself
For Sovelmash, manufacturing products is a step on the way to major contracts for development and transfer to production. The customer must see what product they will receive and how they will manufacture it.

Dmitry Duyunov:
The customer does not need an idea; the customer needs a button—press it, and production starts. They must see feasibility with their own eyes”.
