What is balanced flight — we illustrate with the NOVA-01 airship

13 二月 2026

Fedor Konstantinov, technical director of "AERONOVA", demonstrated the balanced flight of the NOVA-01 airship.

What you see on camera is neither a "special effect" nor a stunt.
We were simply adjusting the additional ballast on the NOVA-01 airship to set the craft to the required slightly heavy trim before the next stages of work.

At the moment the previous ballast was removed, the craft gently lifted and assumed an almost neutral trim in the hangar.

It's quite telling, since the dry mass of the structure is more than 100 kg.
And yet, thanks to aerostatic lift, that weight literally "hangs" in the air and becomes responsive — controlled with a light touch of the fingers.

This is exactly what the balanced state of an airship looks like: when the gas’s lift virtually offsets the weight of the structure, and the engines and control system are no longer fighting mass but enabling precise maneuvering.

It's basic physics, but in reality it impresses every time.

Watch the video — such moments are best seen.
And we continue to move forward — to the next stages of testing.
