Sovelmash D&E news

A grooving machine used to make angle grinder stators was put into operation at the Sovelmash design and engineering technology department (D&E). The machine had been designed and manufactured at the D&E.

Two four-cylinder internal combustion engines for the hybrid version of the Moth drone and the foundry tooling for casting the electric motor bed arrived.

The mold for casting the parts was refined and the right additives were obtained to help improve metal fluidity, reduce porosity and make the structure better. The rotors for the quadcopter motors were cast.

The launch of the Moth drone with the new controllers took place. The thrust reached 157 kg, which is a good result to start with.

The squirrel cage was cast in aluminum for a size-318 motor rotor.

A specialist was invited to the D&E to commission the welding robot and train Sovelmash employees to operate it.
