First flight and an important document: how the year started in SOLARGROUP projects

3 February 2026

January was a month of technology refinement and product testing. «Sovelmash» obtained a long-awaited document, and «AERONOVA» launched a new aircraft.

DUYUNOV MOTORS

The project has entered the final stage of launching the Sovelmash Design and Engineering Technology Bureau (DETB) and preparing for series production. The main focus is on refining manufacturing technologies and testing products.

Testing of the «Motylek» drone

Comprehensive tests of the «Motylek» drone’s propulsion system were conducted. The motor met the expected parameters. The primary focus now is fine-tuning the controllers in real-world conditions.

Angle grinder production

For series production of the angle grinder, special tooling has been created to hold plastic parts in the correct position as they cool, ensuring high quality of the final product.

New equipment at «Sovelmash»

Work to improve the production lines continued. An air purification system was installed above the casting machine. Installation of equipment for producing foam packaging has been completed.

Commissioning of the DETB

A key document has been obtained — an easement agreement required for the permit to commission the DETB «Sovelmash». The updated document package has been submitted to the regulatory authorities.

NEW GENERATION AIRSHIPS

The project is in its initial active phase. New developments are being tested, and airship production is being established.

First flight tests of «AEROLЁT-01»

The historic first flight of the craft was conducted. It successfully performed vertical takeoff and landing, demonstrating an ample power reserve. Basic control and stabilization algorithms were also validated.

Stratospheric conditions in the «AERONOVA» laboratory

A unique thermovacuum facility simulating stratospheric conditions has been created in the laboratory. This equipment opens new opportunities for testing aviation and space hardware, an important step toward reaching higher altitudes.

Manufacturing the NOVA-2 tail control surfaces

At the Lyubertsy site, the tail assembly for the NOVA-2 airship was being produced. Preparation and painting of the structural elements have been completed. The next stage is assembling them into a single unit and applying the fabric covering.
