NOVA-01 Airship: Manual Control Testing and Autopilot Trials
22 July 2025
Useful information about the New Generation Airships project.
Active development of the control systems for the NOVA-01 airship continues within the project. Here is an update on what has been accomplished and what lies ahead:
• Manual control has been successfully tested—the system is operating stably, with no deviations detected. Our specialists are currently working on integrating the interface with the main software platform.
• Communication channels are being configured: the equipment is connected to the onboard system and is undergoing real-time testing. Upcoming tasks include checking the video cameras and machine vision systems, which will transmit live images from the airship.
• We are carrying out technical improvements: adjusting the design of the tail section to enhance stability and in-flight efficiency, along with making minor structural modifications.
• Next step—autopilot: the airship will be able to execute tasks based on preset coordinates in automatic mode. At the same time, the application interface is being refined to ensure reliable and user-friendly route management.
• The final stage is the implementation of automatic docking with the mooring mast. This is a crucial element of the entire autonomous control system, ensuring the safe completion of each flight.
Stay tuned—there’s much more to come!
